Manufacture
OM3vital is an oil of pharmaceutical quality made exclusively from wild fish (anchovy, sardines).
Each production stage of OM3vital is carried out according to "GMP" (Good Manufacturing Practices) food or pharmaceutical standards to guarantee an oil of pharmaceutical quality, compliant with ISO 9001 standards. In addition to rigorous controls during production, isodisnatura periodically calls on an independent laboratory (Oleotest NV ou Eurofins) to carry out analyses on finished product stocks to monitor quality during shelf-life.
Shelf-life
OM3vital contains a protective dose of vitamin E (5.4 mg per capsule), making it possible to maintain the omega-3 in a biologically active state and reduce the risk of peroxidation. The presence of this antioxidant gives OM3vital a 3-year validity period if kept in a dry environment at a temperature between 15 and 25°C.
However, exposure of the product to light and high temperatures reduces shelf-life and may damage the flexible capsules. In addition to rigorous controls during the production stages, isodisnatura periodically calls on an independent laboratory - OLEOTEST NV or EUROFINS - to carry out analyses of OM3vital stocks to monitor quality during shelf life (3 years).

www.consumerlabs.com, an independent organisation that evaluates the quality of nutritional supplements has found that more than one brand in four does not contain the ingredient quantities marked on the label. OM3vital concentrations have ISO 9001 certification and production is carried out according to "GMP" standards.
All too frequently, some products are unfortunately contaminated in their natural state by pollutants such as mercury, PCB or dioxins. The purification process that gives OM3vital its exceptional concentration also makes its possible to eliminate all impurities frequently found in both farmed and wild fish. Heavy metal levels (iron, arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, copper) and other pollutants (DDE, DDT, HCB) are certified below detection level. In particular, PCB levels from OM3vital batches are below or equal to 90 µg/kg, more than twenty times lower than the norms set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (2000 µg /kg), and more than ten times less than WHO norms (1000 µg/kg). How to take OM3vital
It is recommended that OM3vital capsules be taken either at the beginning of a meal, or in the evening just before going to bed to avoid the possibility of a fishy aftertaste. Capsules can be taken either once or a number of times throughout the day, depending on personal preference.
Duration of treatment
Scientific studies on the incorporation of essential fatty acids in cellular membranes suggest that around 3 months are required to compensate a deficiency in Omega-3 essential fatty acids and to completely renew tissue.
In fact, our organism is so much in need of these vital fatty acids that they are used instantly and are immediately apparent in blood samples. This does not mean that each of our cells, right to the middle of our heart or brain, is actually replenished. Taking OM3Vital regularly and over a long period is an efficient way of ensuring a daily intake of the right amount of Omega-3.
Precautions
The most frequent side effect of omega-3 supplements is a fishy aftertaste.
Some people may find that their intestinal transit accelerates temporarily, and defecate once per day. It sometimes occurs in the first week of taking OM3vital that faeces are soft or even liquid. In this event, simply reduce the dose for a week or two, and then retry taking the stronger dose to see if it is tolerated.
In which circumstances should OM3vital not be used?
OM3vital is not recommended for those with allergies to fish, shellfish and other marine produce.
People suffering from pancreatic disorders (congenital malformations of the pancreas, chronic or acute pancreatitis) should avoid consuming fatty bodies in general. OM3vital is therefore not advised in these cases, as for any other food supplement based on essential fatty acids.
Possible interactions
The only possible medicinal interaction of Omega-3 is with anticoagulants and possibly aspirin, as they could theoretically increase the effects of these drugs on blood fluidity. You should therefore notify your doctor if you intend to take Omega-3 supplements, and request an adjustment of your anticoagulant treatment accordingly (generally by reducing the dose of the medication, on the basis of coagulation test results or bleeding times, which are not generally modified).
Studies have shown no increase in bleeding time with intakes of Omega-3 up to 3g per day (6 capsules of OM3vital).
