According to researchers at Örebro University in Sweden, teenagers who get more folates make better marks in school.
To study the relationship between folate and success at school, the authors looked at 386 15-year-olds participating in the European Youth Heart Study.
The results showed that the teens who got the least folates, no matter what their socio-economic category, had the most difficulty at school.
Their performance was not as good as students who got more folates.
